Writing these status updates is becoming increasingly difficult because I keep missing the deadlines I set for myself. Everything seems to take longer that I expect it to, and normal life tends to get in the way. Package that up with all the psychological issues that surface when you are about to unveil your first major project to the world, you find its easy to find reasons to delay.
I have still been making steady progress towards my beta release. The testing and fixing phase is taking a while, but each iteration through my testing guide yeilds fewer things to fix, and I am confident that List Central will be released into beta this summer. I’m hesitant to set a date, because of how many times I’ve missed previous dates I have set… so I’ll just nail is down vaguely with ’sometime this season’.
On another note, I seem to have dropped out of the Perl Ironman Challenge. It wasn’t really a conscious decision, I just ran out of the motivation to write another post, despite the fact that my last Perl post earned my my first Reddit link! I’m still behind the cause of the Perl Ironman Challenge… Perl is worth talking about! I will likely write more on topics related to my favourite programming language, though keeping up with the post regularity required by the challenge is no longer on my priority list.
